Elizabeth Mayo Filippi is a seasoned event management professional and wine enthusiast with a rich history in the travel and events industry. She began her career at Northstar Travel Group in 2004, where she served as the Director of Events for Travel Weekly and Meetings and Conventions Magazine for seven years.
In 2011, Elizabeth transitioned to an independent contractor role, managing events for a variety of prestigious clients including CruiseOne & Cruises Inc., Signature Travel Network, Acclaim Meetings, and Destination Concepts Inc., while continuing her work with Travel Weekly.
Her passion for wine led her to earn her Level III Sommelier Certification in 2013, along with several other wine certifications. This expertise inspired her to establish ETM Events and Tours, a company dedicated to wine education and travel. Together with her husband, Fred Filippi, Elizabeth has grown ETM Events and Tours and ETM Wine Tours into a thriving business, specializing in wine-themed European river cruises with over $3 million in annual revenue.
In recognition of their success, ETM Wine Tours received the Rising Star New Partner Award from Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours in 2023. Although Elizabeth retired from Travel Weekly in 2022, she continues to consult for them on the Pebble Beach Leadership Forum, an event she managed for 18 years.
